Birth stars or Nakshathiram temples are as important as the celestial planets in Astrology.  Like it is important to visit the temples dedicated to the Navagrahas or celestial planets, it is also important to visit temples dedicated to ones Birth star or Janma Nakshatram.  It is said that visiting the temple corresponding to your Birth star at least once a year removes obstacles and ensures happy life. 2. thank u for the useful information.

  3. Dear Sir,
This information is for all of us is superb.but one confusion is their that i cannot understand.for example, pushya nakshatra you wrote abathsahayeswarar temple, alangudi.than akshayapureeswar koil vilangulam in thanjavur. again below karkadeswar temple near thiruvisanallur.please clarify this.

    • Abathsahayeswarar Temple is for Punarpoosam or Punarvasu Nakshathiram. For every nakshathiram there are two temples. You can visit whichever is convenient. For Pushya, it is either Akshayapureeswarar koil near Tanjore or Karkadeswarar Koil near Thiruvisanallur. Hope this clarifies your doubt.

  5. Sir,
Thanks for ur commendable solace to minds.
I wish to convey few points. Most of the people inform about small temples, but powerful around Three ” T”s – Tanjore , Tiruchi & Tirunelveli Districts ( all undivided before 70s).
There are temples which are completely unknown to outsiders in Coimbatore,Dindigul,Sivaganga Karaikudi areas which are equally powerful in performances. Thadicombu – Swarnaakaeshna bairavar, Edaikaattur siththar temple, Devakottai perumal temples, Pattamangalam thakshinamuthy with very old stahlavriksha behind it, few to mention .

  13. Dear Sir,

Your blog is highly informative and serves a great cause of reviving interest in the practice of temple worship. I recently went to the Hastha & Anuradha nakshatra sthalas. The contact numbers proved to be very useful as I had to request the Gurukkal to stay upto 8pm as I was running late. I also request you if possible to post the reason why each temple is ear marked for a particular nakshatra.
